Samsung Galaxy S25’s Main Camera Sensor Could Be Same as Galaxy S24

Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra will be officially released early next year. The launch date is rumored to be months away, but a series of leaks over the past few days have made it clearer what to expect from next year’s Galaxy S flagships. Initial leaks indicate that the Galaxy S25 will have the same rear camera sensor as the Galaxy S24. The vanilla model and the Plus variant can get a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy S25 camera leak showed no update

GalaxyClub reports (in Dutch) that the Samsung Galaxy S25’s main camera will be 50 megapixels. If this rumor is true, the upcoming device will be the fourth-generation Galaxy S with a 50-megapixel main camera. The existing Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 models share the same main camera sensor.

The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are said to have a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. This means that the resolution of the front camera remains unchanged compared to its predecessors. The sensor’s size and other details are currently being kept secret.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is getting major camera upgrades. It may have a quad rear camera consisting of a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The ultra-wide-angle sensor and 3x sensor are significant improvements over the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Aside from the rear camera and selfie camera, the Galaxy S25 will likely pack the same 4,000mAh battery as its predecessor. The phone has the model number SM-S931. The vanilla model has a 6.36-inch display and is powered by an Exynos 2500 chipset in all markets.
